The Idea

Indie-Film Club

A space for film lovers to meet, share, and learn.

We are a group of filmmakers and film lovers who believe in the impact of film on society, and see it as a powerful vehicle for culture, and education. Especially in such an important time as the cinema in Saudi Arabia is forming its own identity alongside the change in the whole country. We believe in the necessity of sharing our different experiences, and the need to learn from each other. At the same time to establish stronger connections with different film experts and institutes from the region and around the world.

Therefor, we gather to organize film screenings and discussions as we believe in the importance of studying and analyzing world cinema. We organize tailor-made workshops, and also offer a space for local filmmakers to screen their films and connect with audience while connecting with each other.

We strongly believe in the importance of having such a space with the goal to help local filmmakers to learn, connect, share, and educate while practicing creative expression.

Our motto, from filmmakers to filmmakers. So we have formed our committee. A team of experienced filmmakers and film-event organizers, who volunteered to help. The committee members will meet regularly within themselves and with others to review, analysis, and discuss our program. Finding new ways to improve.
