Shobak image 02.jpg

Shobak | Workshop

Short-Film Script Development

We are happy to announce our first short-film script development workshop (Shobak). A 5-days intensive workshop focusing on unlocking creativity by sharing and discussing each script among participants. It will help each participant to open a new window towards fresh ideas.

The workshop is tailored to screenwriters and/or teams of two. Writers, co-writers, directors, and producers developing a film project together. Team participation is encouraged to strengthen creative partnerships and increase the efficiency of the development process.

The workshop is designed for those who already have some experience in writing/filming short films, and now working on their next one. Whatever documentary, fiction, or animation the focus is on how to tell the story best. A group of six films/teams will be selected. Each will read the scripts of others before the start of the workshop. Within five days, each participant will pitch their film and go through a designed program that will help in discovering their own story and provide a range of ‘tools’ to improve the participants' writing skills and to develop their projects to their utmost potential.

The workshop will include masterclasses, introducing writing tools, pitching, and exercises. The main idea is to train writers to work in teams as a way of development. Participants will also have to present the changes in their script at the end of the workshop.

The workshop is free of cost
